Maintenance Technician Job Description:

Position Summary:

Maintain a luxurious appearance of the community and a safe environment for our residents. Provide world class customer service skills while repairing and executing resident service requests.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly

Education Required:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Knowledge of pool cleaning procedures and chemical manipulation.
  • Familiar with boiler and automatic gate operation systems.
  • HVAC Certified

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Replace or repair parts for appliances such as stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, disposer, vent hood, etc.
  • Sheetrock and texture work.
  • Repair and replace doors and windows, cabinet doors, counter tops.
  • Install base board.
  • Repair or install concrete floor, ceramic tile, vinyl tile or plank.
  • Perform all service in compliance with Ashford Communities’ policies and procedures.
  • Respond to all service requests in a timely manner.
  • Store all equipment, supplies, and tools properly in a secure location.
  • Perform all scheduled work on time and properly.
  • All other tasks assigned or directed.

Communication Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
